Bloggery

I wont have anything up of any significance until at least tomorrow evening. Catching up with ‘the people’ has been my priority for the few few days. That and university. Which, by the way, I’d like to mention I got a final result of 99 for my Teaching English subject. Other than that, two other distinctions (Civil War and Teaching History) and a credit (Australian history). I was very pleased with those result – especially Teaching English.

I’ll probably recount a few holiday stories, have a post on The 18 Cup, and maybe some other photos before moving on. Though, to be honest, I’ve lost a want to blog. Over my holiday, I can honestly say I hardly ever thought about my blog other than the times I was bored out of my brain and had access to give an update. I may take a while to get back into the swing of things. Have patience.

He’s back …..

I have returned – alive and well, though scarred a little I expect. This trip was truly a great experience – one that everyone will hear about for some time. There are twice as many pictures as Europe – well over 1400 this time. Don’t freak out, I don’t expect I’ll be showing them off a whole lot – my European photos never saw the light of day really anyway. There are, however, a whole bunch of 18 Cup photos that I’ll upload soon.

For the moment, it’s catching up on emails, chasing up some holiday things, and catching up with my friends, as my family is already done. I’d like it known that I’ve been up since 6am Friday morning New York time, which should be coming up to 48 hours in another 2 hours. Go jet lag!

Thomas.

Edit: Yeah, I spelled scarred wrong – funny thing about being up for 2 days with no sleep. Though, with some of the stories, either word is appropriate.

Hey from New York

Hey again. I’m in New York now. Not a long update – I have to pay per the 5 minutes for this connection.

The tour part of the trip is over, meaning it’s free time for Thomas. I spent tonight having dinner with my friend Diana, along with most of the other people on tour who wanted to have one final dinner. Went walking round Time Square. Was a sight. I’ll update further soon. Hope everyone is well.

Howdy y’all

I’m in Dallas. It’s 11:51pm, Saturday the 5th. This is just a short update.

Lots of photos, and many with The 18 Cup. The Grand Canyon and Monument Valley probably have the best … so far. Dallas is home to somewhere I really want to get a photo of.

My first day, in terms of waking hours, went like this: Landed and was up for 36 hours straight. Got 5 hours sleep, then was up for 24 hours in Vegas. 60 hours for 5 hours sleep is not a good sleep. There is a good story to tell here. And a great blog post.

In fact, there’s already been a lot of blog posts written. I’m keeping a journal to keep myself amused during the long bus trips – like the 7 hour one today between Amarillo and Dallas.

I’ve picked up a few more hats for my collection, but tomorrow is the big hat day. Next to this hotel, there is a Texan cowboy store, and I am going to get fully fitted in the proper Western gear that everyone expects me to wear with my now trademark hat.

So yeah, just something short. I’ll check in in a few days. Oh, and something to note: You wouldn’t know there is an election coming up. Serious. It’s sad. And disappointing.

Thomas.
